Privacy Policy
Nibble keeps your little one's records on your device. This policy explains what that means, the limited data that does leave your phone, and the choices you have.
The short version
-
Your records stay on your device
Feeds, sleep, diapers, growth, photos, and medication records are stored in Nibble on your iPhone. We never receive them.
-
No accounts, ads, or tracking
There is nothing to sign up for, no advertising, and no analytics tools in the app.
-
Limited data for weather and purchases
Weather looks up your location with Apple, and Nibble+ purchases are confirmed with Apple and RevenueCat.
Your records stay on your device
This policy covers the Nibble app for iPhone and Apple Watch and this website. “Nibble”, “we”, and “us” refer to the developer of the Nibble app.
Nibble works without an account. Everything you log, including child profiles, feeds, sleep, diapers, baths, sunlight, moods, medication schedules, measurements, growth photos, and care visits, is stored in the app on your iPhone. These records are not sent to us, and we cannot see them.
Nibble also shows your records in the places you choose to use it:
- Apple Watch. Your iPhone and Apple Watch exchange records directly through Apple's Watch Connectivity framework, without passing through us.
- Widgets and Live Activities. Home Screen widgets and Live Activities on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island are created on your iPhone from data that stays on the device.
- Siri and Shortcuts. When you use Siri or the Shortcuts app with Nibble, Apple handles your request under the Apple Privacy Policy.
If you back up your iPhone with iCloud Backup or to a computer, your Nibble records may be included in that backup. Backups are handled by Apple and controlled by your device settings.
Permissions Nibble asks for
Each permission is optional, and you can change your choice at any time in the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Location, while using the app. Used to show local weather and clothing suggestions. Nibble asks iOS for a low-accuracy location, about 3 kilometers (2 miles), which is enough for a local forecast. Nibble does not use your location in the background, and you can also turn off Precise Location for Nibble in Settings.
- Camera. Used to take growth photos of your little one. Photos you take are saved in Nibble on your device.
- Add to Photos. Lets Nibble save a growth photo to your photo library when you ask it to. This permission does not let Nibble see your library. When you import a photo, Apple's photo picker shares only the photos you select.
- Notifications. Used for reminders you turn on, such as care reminders and a nudge when a feed or diaper change may have gone unlogged. Reminders are scheduled on your device.
- Alarms. Used so medication reminders can alert at the scheduled time. Alarms are scheduled on your device with Apple's AlarmKit.
Services that receive limited data
Nibble has no servers of its own that receive your records. A few features rely on services from Apple and RevenueCat, which receive only what the feature needs.
- Apple Weather and Apple Maps. When Nibble shows the weather, it sends your location to Apple's WeatherKit service for a forecast and to Apple Maps to find the name of your town or city. Nibble keeps recent forecasts on your device so it does not need to ask again right away.
- App Store purchases. Nibble+ is bought through your Apple Account. Apple processes the payment, and we never see your payment details.
- RevenueCat. We use RevenueCat to confirm your Nibble+ purchases and subscription status. RevenueCat receives your purchase history, a random app user ID that is not linked to your name or email address, and basic details such as your locale and currency. Like any online service, it can also see the IP address a request comes from. It does not receive your little one's records.
- Family Sharing. If you share a Nibble+ family plan through Apple's Family Sharing, Apple shares access to the purchase. Your records are not shared with your family members.
Apple and RevenueCat handle this information under their own policies: the Apple Privacy Policy and the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or track you across other companies' apps and websites.
Exports, imports, and emails
- CSV export. With Nibble+, you can export a copy of your records as a CSV file. You choose where to save or send it, and that copy is then handled by the app or service you choose.
- CSV import. Nibble reads only the file you select and adds its entries to the app on your device.
- Emailing us. If you email us or use Report a problem in the app, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. Problem reports start with your app version filled in. Please only include personal or health details if they are needed to explain the issue. We use emails only to help you, and we keep them only as long as needed for that.
This website
This website does not use cookies, analytics, or advertising. It is hosted by Vercel, which processes standard request information, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the site and keep it secure. The icons on the site load from the jsDelivr network, which receives the same kind of request information. See the Vercel Privacy Policy and the jsDelivr Privacy Policy.
Links to the App Store take you to Apple, where the Apple Privacy Policy applies.
Children's privacy
Nibble is made for parents and other caregivers, not for children to use on their own. Information you record about your little one stays on your device. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
- Edit or delete any entry in the app at any time.
- Delete a child profile to permanently remove that child's records and photos. You can undo for a short time after deleting.
- Delete Nibble to remove its data from your devices. Copies in device backups or in files you exported are not affected.
- Turn location, camera, photos, notification, and alarm permissions on or off in the Settings app.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or get a copy of personal information about you, and to object to or limit how it is used. Your records never reach us, so you control them directly in the app. For anything we do hold, such as emails you sent us, contact us and we will respond within the time the law requires. You may also contact your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Nibble handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes, we will also give notice in the app or on this site before they take effect.
